Fall Rhapsody– Ottawa, ON

Animating the paths of Whistler Village, performers from the Sea to Sky Corridor and touring artists from across Canada provide free, family-friendly interactive entertainment like juggling, circus acts, music, bike stunts, dancing and acrobatics.

Celtic Colours International Festival – Cape Breton, NS
October 9 - 17

Since 1997, the Celtic Colours International Festival has featured hundreds of musicians from all over the Celtic world and attracted tens of thousands of visitors to Cape Breton Island. For nine days in October, Cape Breton Island is home to a unique celebration of music and culture as the festival presents dozens of concerts, workshops, a visual arts series and a nightly Festival Club.

The Rocky Mountain Wine and Food Festival is the largest and most exciting wine and food event in Alberta. The festival offers a chance to sample an extensive variety of wine, scotch, import beer and premium spirits, along with gourmet food samples from local restaurants and hotels. A portion of ticket sales will be donated to the SAIT and NAIT culinary schools.

Planet in Focus: International Environmental Film & Video Festival – Toronto, ON

Throughout the year and at the annual festival, Planet in Focus screens outstanding and compelling environmental films and videos created by Canadian and international filmmakers from all regions around the world. Each day’s program features pre and post-screening discussions, panels, workshops and networking events, designed to further engage with the films’ subjects and foster dialogue and community amongst audiences, filmmakers and broadcasters.

International Festival of Authors – Toronto, ON

The International Festival of Authors was inaugurated in 1980 with a mandate to bring together the best writers of contemporary world literature. The IFOA includes readings, interviews, lectures and round table discussions as well as public book signings and a festival bookstore. The festival also presents a number of special events including readings by Scotiabank Giller Prize, Governor General’s Literary Awards, and Roger Writers’ Trust Fiction Prize finalists, as well as the awarding of the Harbourfront Festival Prize.
