Emergencies can happen at all times of the year. It’s a good idea to be prepared, have a plan and create a survival kit. The Emergency Survival Checklist below will help you get started.

Emergency Preparedness

Flashlight and batteries
Radio and batteries or crank radio
Spare batteries
First-aid kit
Candles and matches/lighter
Extra car keys and cash
Important papers (identification)
Food and bottled water
Clothing and footwear
Blankets or sleeping bags
Toilet paper and other personal items
Medication
Backpack/duffel bag (to hold all of the items)
Whistle (to attract attention, if needed)
Playing cards, games
