Community: SHERIDAN ELDER RESEARCH CENTRE (SERC) Invites Seniors 65+

The Sheridan Elder Research Centre (SERC) has launched a province-wide research initiative that includes surveying Ontario’s older adults with respect to their thoughts and ideas about later life learning. SERC’s latest research initiative, funded by the Canadian Council on Learning, seeks to understand how, what, where, when and why seniors learn. The information that older adults provide is completely voluntary, confidential and anonymous.

If you are 65+ and living in Ontario, SERC researchers encourage you to participate in this important research study entitled As Seen Through Their Eyes: Understanding the Learning Needs of Ontario’s Older Adults”.

From the information provided by Ontario seniors, Sheridan researchers will develop recommendations about how best to respond to the various learning needs and interests of older persons.

To complete an on-line questionnaire, go to and click the button on the home page to the right of Provincial Survey.

For more information or to receive a paper copy of the questionnaire, please contact Candace Fochuk-Barey at (905) 845-9430, ext. 4117 or by email.
