Fitness: Exercise Your Brain!

 

  • Use all of your senses as much as you can throughout the day

  • Converse and socialize with many different types of people

  • Use your non-dominant hand (ie. left hand if you are right-handed, or vice versa) to hold the telephone or use the TV remote  

  • Cultivate interests in new areas, like jigsaw and crossword puzzles, word games, art, even learn a new language   

  • Read a variety of materials and tell your family and friends about what you’ve read  

  • Learn about and travel to places that are of interest to you, whether they are far or near  

  • Tell family and friends about news items from TV or radio newscasts to exercise your short and long term memories
