Fitness: Easy Resolutions

What we’d like you to do is to think about making some resolutions that are easy to keep and will truly affect your life.

How does having more fun in 2007 sound to you?  

Getting into shape is one of the most popular resolutions that people make as the New Year rolls around. Changing Gears offers some fun and easy fitness suggestions that will give you more energy which will help to give you a more positive outlook on life.  

Would you consider:   

  • Having fun and laughing a lot  
  • Playing outside more  
  • Keeping your body moving   

Whether you are enjoying the sight of large, fluffy snowflakes falling to the ground, making snow angels in the snow, or building snowmen with your children or grandchildren, there are huge benefits to outdoor play.  

How many of you have played in the snow recently?

Outdoor play is a form of exercise and just being outside in the fresh air and sunshine always makes us feel better.   

One great resolution is to be a role model for fitness, for your family and friends.  

Consider volunteering for charitable events that involve exercise and for a cause that you believe in. It's also a great way to meet new friends.  

Do any of you have any sports injuries or back problems that give you trouble in the colder weather or on rainy days?

Make it one of your resolutions to take a look at the options available to you that will help either totally get you off pain killers or allow you to do a lot of things you haven’t been able to for a while.  Personal trainers will work with you to develop the strength where you need it and send you on your way.  Massage therapy and going to an osteopath are two other options.  Both will get you beyond where you are today so you can be more active.
