Lighten-Up
Spring Cleaning with Attitude!
After a long, cold Canadian winter, it’s time for the incredible lightness of spring. Simplify, organize, lighten-up, downsize -- whatever you call it, spring is a great time to begin.
Start Small, But Start!
Schedule an hour or two and tackle one closet or drawer. You’ll be encouraged by the results and ready to take on larger projects – like the garage and basement!
A Place for Everything…
and everything in its place. Storing similar items together makes things easier to find when you’re in a hurry.
Edit Before You Buy…
Sort files, craft supplies, books and clothing before you shop and you won’t be tempted to buy boxes, bins and baskets to store things you no longer want, use or need.
Use One Calendar
to keep track of all your personal, professional and social appointments..
Tame The Magazine Monster….
It’s a funny thing about magazines and newspapers -- they just seem to accumulate! Start a new habit and recycle one magazine for each new magazine you bring into your house.
Be a Book Editor…
Books take up a lot of space. This spring, consider donating unwanted books to second-hand stores or charitable organizations for flea markets and/or book sales.
Be a Generous Giver…
Find people and organizations to put your unwanted treasures to good use. Reduce, reuse, recycle – it’s good for the environment and it feels good too!
Remember, the important things in life, aren’t things. Lighten up and you’ll create more time, space and energy to do the things you really want to do.
