Homes & Gardens: What Are You Thankful For?

Fall is a time of reflection. As leaves turn vibrant colours and gently tumble from the trees, as the air becomes cooler and the hectic pace of summer activities ends, we have time to think about our lives. The month of October, in particular, leads us to think about what we are thankful for.

As we see others and their life circumstances, we start thinking about what we are thankful for in our own lives. As Canadians, it’s easy for us to take our standard of living for granted. During this time of reflection, take a few moments to think about the advantages that we have because we live in this country.

A few of the positives that quickly come to mind are: relatively free health care, no hurricanes!, a culture that embraces and celebrates diversity, soldiers that are "peace-keepers" and Canada’s wonderful reputation world wide.

I’m sure that you have your own list of what you are thankful for; I know that I do. So for Thanksgiving this year as you gather with friends and family, take a few moments to think about your life and how lucky we all are to be Canadians.
