Life is full of changes. Sometimes we choose the changes, and sometimes change is made for us through circumstances beyond our control.

When change occurs, stress is always a major part of the transition from one stage of our life to another, involving everyone around us, family, friends, care givers. Everyone involved needs help and understanding.   

Symptoms of Stress that can cause us suffering

  • Headaches

  • Migraine      
                                             
  • Muscle aches and pains  

  • Tense neck and shoulders

  • Irritability

  • Restlessness

  • Insomnia

  • Depression  

  • Digestive disorders, stomach cramps/pain/irritable bowel syndrome, flatulence.

Can you relate to any of the following? Do you: 

  • Skip meals?
  • Drink too much coffee?

  • Eat Fast foods or processed foods several times a week?

  • Inhale your food, and then wash it down with glass of water/tea/coffee?

  • Become irritable, and frustrated with people and situations, even those you love?  

This behaviour becomes a habit, mostly due to our pre-conceived ideas about time. However the end result is always the same. Stress on the body, which in turn becomes a symptom in the form of headaches etc. as above.  

Touch is the oldest from of healing and comes in many forms; it depends on what feels right for you. Often more than one type of therapy is better, for example massage combined with reflexology or reiki. Holistic care is a synergy, a combination of therapies, looking at the body and person as a whole, not as individual parts. Mind, body and soul.  

How you feel, becomes a thought, an attitude, and how you interpret that thought becomes your behaviour.  

To benefit others, you need to take time out for yourself, heal yourself first.
