Celebrating Life: Stocking Stuffers

Why not try and lighten up everyone’s mood on Christmas morning by having fun the way children do. Enjoy that wonderful childhood experience of opening up a stocking and sharing its contents with your family.

Why not buy a “new” Christmas stocking in the receiver’s favourite colour(s) and stuff it with mostly useable items?

Stocking Stuffers

Take a look at their bathrooms. What kind of toothbrush do they use? Buy a replacement. If they have arthritis or have any difficulty brushing, buy them a single electric toothbrush. Lip balm in a favourite flavour. Cleansing sponge for shower or bath. These come in all colours. Find one that goes with their bathroom.

What is their favourite kind of candy? Buy a small box or maybe a single truffle in a fancy box. Xmas Smarties, toffee, etc. Do they have a Tim Horton’s near by? Buy them a book of coupons. Are they tea drinkers? What about a package of 5 of a fancier brand. Do they like Loto tickets? What about a scratch ticket in their favourite game. Do they like nuts? What about a small package of them. Small jars of jam. What about favourite liqueur or wine? A lot are now available in small liquor store bottles.

Do they have a favourite magazine or one that they only look at and never buy? What about a paperback by a favourite author or on a subject of interest. Another pair of magnifying reading glasses. What about a CD or tape of their long time favourite songs. Great memories are always welcome! A simple heating pad to soothe sore areas or a new deck of cards.

Make a donation in their name to their favourite charity and put the acknowledgement card in the stocking.

And just for fun…… what about a wind-up toy? They come in all different shapes and sizes. From walking Xmas trees, teddy bears, racing cars and planes.

You could even wrap up all of your purchases and put them into the stocking. Santa paper can be amusing and everyone loves to unwrap presents!

I have seen the joy that comes to other’s eyes when they know how much thought you have put into a gift such as this. Why not bring back the fun of childhood into your Christmas mornings for everyone!!
